Fun at the Park

The weather in Texas can be unpredictable. We had several days of warm weather recently, so we tried to squeeze in a couple of trips to the park while it lasted. It had been awhile and Anson is definitely a bigger boy than the last time we'd been. He had a lot of fun, especially swinging. And of course, Genevieve enjoyed playing outside as much as ever!

Happy 30th Birthday, Mindy!

My friend Mindy turned 30 and to celebrate we went to Mi Cocina in downtown Fort Worth and then out for drinks afterwards. It was fun to hang out with some girlfriends for a night on the town. Happy 30th Birthday, Mindy!

Fingerpainting with Anson

We attempted fingerpainting for the first time with Anson. We had done this with Genevieve around the same age and she enjoyed it. It was a different story with Anson. He was okay until he realized he couldn't eat it and it was all downhill from there. The pictures say it all!

Gingerbread House

For Christmas Grammie and Pappaw got Genevieve a Gingerbread House Kit. So a few days after Christmas while the kids and I were still in Dallas (Ollie was on his camping trip) Genevieve and Grammie decided to make it. They had fun putting the icing on and then decorating it with candy. And of course Genevieve had fun nibbling on the goodies while making it. It turned out cute and we brought it home and had it for dessert for a few nights.

Boys Camping Trip

The day after Christmas Ollie and Moose planned a trip with two friends, Jonathan and Matt, to go camping for a few days. Unfortunately Anson was sick so that pushed his trip back a little. Once they finally got on the road they headed to Turner Falls, Oklahoma. There was still a lot of snow on the ground so they enjoyed a long hike and explored some nearby caves. In the end they decided it was too cold, even with a fire. So they came back early, but still had a great time together.

Wagon Walk

Anson and Genevieve got a brand new Radio Flyer wagon from Santa. So Christmas day afternoon we all bundled up for a walk around the neighborhood with their new wagon. It was chilly, but nice to get outside. We enjoyed looking at all the neighbors holiday decorations and spending time together as a family!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve we headed over to Dallas to spend a few days with my mom, dad and brother, Robert. Unfortunately Anson had started running a fever and had a horrible cough and runny nose, but he didn't seem to mind for the most part. That night we went to the Family Christmas Eve Service at my parents church. We then came home and the kids got to each open two gifts. Ollie & I started the tradition that each year they would get a book and pjs on Christmas Eve. Then Christmas morning we all got up to see what Santa had brought the kids and open all our gifts from the whole family. Both kids had a fun time checking out all their loot, but especially Genevieve. She was so excited about each gift she opened! Overall, we had a wonderful time with my family and a very Merry Christmas!
