Girls Weekend Getaway

Two weekends ago two of my closest friends (Amanda & Kendi) and I went on a little girls weekend getaway to Fredericksburg, Tx. We've been planning on taking a trip forever now and we finally made it happen. We arrived late Friday night after a long drive just chatting and stopping to have a nice dinner in Marble Falls. Saturday morning we decided to walk over to Main St. to stroll up and down and check out the cute shops. We then had a yummy lunch at Rather Sweet Bakery and Cafe, the owner is the author of The Pastry Queen. It was delicious! Then we did some more shopping. Later in the afternoon we went to explore some wineries. We started at Wildseed Farms and Winery where we enjoyed a few tastings of different wines, then we explored the beautiful gardens full of gorgeous flowers. We then went to Woodrose Winery. Again we savored a few tastings of wine while relaxing on the porch outside. Afterwards we went for a nice dinner at a local Italian restaurant. After a long day we headed back to our hotel for a dip in the hot tub and to roast some smores in the fire on the patio. Sunday we decided to do a little more shopping before having another yummy lunch and then getting back on the road to Fort Worth. I am so glad to have had this trip with these girls before we all move away for residency. It was a wonderful time that I will cherish forever!

Train Ride

It had been awhile since we went on the miniature train so the kids and I met some of our friends (Chelsey & Elliott and Kendi, Tate & Tori) one morning for a ride. The weather was great and the kids had a great time! Afterwards we had a picnic with our friends. We enjoyed some time outside and were pooped by the time we got home!

Happy Easter!

Easter morning the kids dug in to their Easter baskets that the Easter bunny had left the night before. They loved all the goodies they got! For lunch we went to Southwestern Medical Center for a yummy meal, which has become a bit of a tradition the past few years. They had live bunnies to pet there, which the kids thought was pretty cool! We came home and took a few pics of the kids in their Easter outfits. Then we had an indoor Easter egg hunt due to the drizzle outside. Both children had fun finding the eggs. It was a wonderful day!

The Dallas Zoo

Easter weekend we spent our time in Dallas. On Saturday the whole family (Grammie, Pappaw, Uncle Robert and the four of us) visited the Dallas Zoo. We've been to the Ft. Worth Zoo a bunch so it was nice to check out something new. Genevieve said she didn't have a favorite animal, rather that ALL the animals were her favorite. We all had a lovely day until about five minutes before leaving when Genevieve was splashed by another child in the children's area and preceded to melt down. It was actually quite funny. You would of thought she'd been shot by how upset she was! Overall though, the zoo was a hit!
