Two weekends ago two of my closest friends (Amanda & Kendi) and I went on a little girls weekend getaway to Fredericksburg, Tx. We've been planning on taking a trip forever now and we finally made it happen. We arrived late Friday night after a long drive just chatting and stopping to have a nice dinner in Marble Falls. Saturday morning we decided to walk over to Main St. to stroll up and down and check out the cute shops. We then had a yummy lunch at Rather Sweet Bakery and Cafe, the owner is the author of The Pastry Queen. It was delicious! Then we did some more shopping. Later in the afternoon we went to explore some wineries. We started at Wildseed Farms and Winery where we enjoyed a few tastings of different wines, then we explored the beautiful gardens full of gorgeous flowers. We then went to Woodrose Winery. Again we savored a few tastings of wine while relaxing on the porch outside. Afterwards we went for a nice dinner at a local Italian restaurant. After a long day we headed back to our hotel for a dip in the hot tub and to roast some smores in the fire on the patio. Sunday we decided to do a little more shopping before having another yummy lunch and then getting back on the road to Fort Worth. I am so glad to have had this trip with these girls before we all move away for residency. It was a wonderful time that I will cherish forever!
Looks like you had a really fun getaway! I was getting a kick out of you and one of your friends wearing black in every picture and the other friend was so colorful.
I'm a wife to a wonderful husband and father, Ollie, who is busy pursuing his dream to be a doctor, a mother to a sweet, but sassy five year old girl, Genevieve, and a cuddly, but demanding two year old boy, Anson. I enjoy the outdoors, soccer, reading, musicals, hiking, snowboarding, camping, swimming, the 80's, shopping, traveling (wish I could do this more often), baking, photography, animal rights, playing cards, backgammon, sudoku, Kraft macaroni & cheese, summers in Seattle, spring in New Mexico, fall in Texas, chocolate, real conversations about politics and religion with open-minded people, family walks, the smell of coffee, sunflowers, raspberries, vegetarianism, hanging out with friends and family. Life is continuously an adventure at our house!
What a beautiful place. I want to go!
