This year for Thanksgiving we again attended the large Earl (my mom's side of the family) clan gathering in Clifton. You never know who all is going to show up, but it's always nice to see those who can make it. As usual there were dominoes, cards and other games played, great conversations, lots of laughing and of course a bonfire. Oh, and you can't forget the delicious meal, but that goes without saying. As an added bonus this year there was horse back riding. Genevieve really enjoyed getting to ride a pony. Both kids loved all the extra attention from the extended family and ask often when the next time they will get to see everyone! Overall it was a fun couple of days and we look forward to the next gathering!
One of the things we love about our new house is that right around the corner, within walking distance, is a great park! One afternoon the kids and I enjoyed taking the wagon and walking over to the park for fun time together!
One morning our family went with my parents over to the Arboretum for The Great Pumpkin Festival. We've enjoyed it in years past and it's become a bit of a tradition and something we look forward to this time of year. Obviously, it has lots of pumpkins, but each year it's a little different. Once again it did not disappoint and this year there was a band that the kids enjoyed dancing to. We can't wait to do it again next year!
I'm a wife to a wonderful husband and father, Ollie, who is busy pursuing his dream to be a doctor, a mother to a sweet, but sassy five year old girl, Genevieve, and a cuddly, but demanding two year old boy, Anson. I enjoy the outdoors, soccer, reading, musicals, hiking, snowboarding, camping, swimming, the 80's, shopping, traveling (wish I could do this more often), baking, photography, animal rights, playing cards, backgammon, sudoku, Kraft macaroni & cheese, summers in Seattle, spring in New Mexico, fall in Texas, chocolate, real conversations about politics and religion with open-minded people, family walks, the smell of coffee, sunflowers, raspberries, vegetarianism, hanging out with friends and family. Life is continuously an adventure at our house!
