Happy 30th Ollie!

This December 9th was an exceptionally special one, Ollie turned 30!!! Prior to the big day I had sent out notices to his closest friends and family asking them to send cards, being that they wouldn't be with us to celebrate his big day. He walked in the door from work to a table of gifts and around 35 cards. He was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed reading each one. I recently found out that his favorite cake is carrot, which I was surprised I didn't know! I was going to be the little Betty Crocker and make one, but with time restraints I ended up buying it:) All in all it the day was a huge success, as we celebrated as a family opening cards, gifts, singing Happy Birthday, blowing out candles and eating cake. Happy, Happy 30th, to a wonderful husband and father! We love you, Ollie!

Holiday Happenings

There is always a lot to do around the holidays, and this year was no exception. We got to do several things with friends throughout December. The festivities started with the annual SAA Christmas Party at Dr Baker's. We celebrated Ollie's 30th with our friends, Jonathan and Paras, but unfortunately there are no pictures to share. Another time Ollie and I enjoyed a kid-free night out with our friends Ben and Chelsey. We had a yummy dinner downtown and then enjoyed the decorations around Sundance Square. Lastly, I had a fun girls night with my friend Amanda where we went to dinner and to see The Christmas Carol in Dallas. We are blessed to have wonderful friends in our lives!

O Christmas Tree

With Christmas around the corner it was time for us to get a tree and decorate it. Genevieve is at a perfect age this year to love everything about the holidays. She was so excited to help put the ornaments on the tree. She admired each one before and after they went up. We even had a little help from Anson. Sorry for so many pictures, but I couldn't narrow them down because I thought they were all so cute:)

Happy Thanksgiving!

For Thanksgiving, the family went to Brownwood to do the annual greater Moore family get-together. We go almost every year, and while the overall numbers of people present has dropped in recent years, we still have a lot of fun catching up, playing games, building bonfires and of course having a delicious dinner! Things have changed some for us now that the have the kids, we aren't able to stay up all night with the cousins like we used to, but we still have a great time hanging out with everyone as much as we can. Ollie and I love it when Genevieve and Anson get to spend time with their relatives, and its always great to hear the older generation talk about family history or tell funny stories. We are very thankful for the family we got to spend the holiday with and for those who were far away, but still in our thoughts.

Grandma and 101 Dalmations

On her way back from visiting Hiawa, Grandma came through for a couple of days to spend some time with us. One afternoon we went to see the play 101 Dalmations. It was really cute and Genevieve loved seeing all the puppies, hearing the songs and watching Cruella de Vil. We had a nice visit with Grandma and look forward seeing her again soon!

South Carolina - Charleston for the day

While in South Carolina Ollie had an interview for residency in Charleston. Charleston is about two hours away from Columbia where Abe, Delilah and Hiawa live. Being that this could be a possible place we might live in the future I wanted to check out the town a little. So on Saturday morning we headed to Charleston for the day. We ate a yummy lunch, walked around the waterfront, explored the historical sites and just enjoyed a nice day trip.
