Starbugs
Ollie has been spending the past month or so studying for his board exams. He has been very diligent with his studies and used his time productively, keeping his nose in the books. He can't really study at home in the office due to the fact that we have two kiddos that love spending time with their daddy. So he trades off going to Starbucks or the school library. One afternoon he was at the neighborhood Starbucks and as a special treat the kiddos and I went to visit him for a short study break. Genevieve loved seeing her daddy, but even more so, she loved having some chocolate milk and a rice krispie treat at Starbucks or as Genevieve calls it, Starbugs.

A Few Days with Grammie & Pappaw
About two weeks ago (I'm still trying to catch up on blogging) Genevieve, Anson & I went to Dallas to spend a few days with Grammie and Pappaw. We wanted to give Ollie some time to study for his board exams without being distracted. As usual, Genevieve had a wonderful time playing with her grandparents. She enjoyed building a train track with Pappaw and she had fun playing a new matching board game, Goodnight Moon, with Grammie.

Silly Girl
Anson's 1st Food
A week before Anson turned 6 months old we introduced him to rice cereal. He started out excited to sit in the high chair. Then when I put the first bite in his mouth, he was a little unsure. Then he was a little more interested, but just couldn't figure out how the whole eating solids things worked. He made a big mess! After a while he was done! He just wanted to stop eating and get out of the high chair. Here are a few pics of the experience. You can see the progression from happy to mad. What a funny little guy!

Puppet Show with Grammie
A few weeks ago Genevieve went over to Grammie & Pappaws for a few days. While there Grammie took her to the Women's Museum to see the Puppet Show, Little Red Riding Hood. Grammie said Genevieve was a little unsure at first, but after awhile warmed up and really had fun. It was an interactive show and they encouraged audience participation and Genevieve booed and cheered at the appropriate times. She thoroughly enjoyed the show and is still talking about it. Grammie forgot to take her camera with her, so here is a picture taken before they left.

Our Vacation: Part Ten - Eugene, OR
We had a terrific visit with Rich in Eugene and at the coast. We were blessed to be able to go up to the northwest and thankful to him for an unforgettable time together! Here are a few more pics of our time in Eugene.
Our Vacation: Part Nine - Eugene, OR
Our last day we went over to Rich's community garden plot to pick raspberries. In addition to his home garden, he has some space in a public garden (there are several in Eugene). We did this on our last trip to the northwest when Genevieve was around 15 months old. She loved it then and she loved it again at age 3. Picking the raspberries is fun, but eating them is even better! After that, we walked down to the river to feed the ducks. You'll see in the pictures that were a lot of them, and we were all a little intimidated when they started swarming us for our pieces of bread. It was a fun ending to a wonderful trip!
